Biography

Jamie Teo’s practice explores the sensations that emerge from colour and light—not as fixed subjects, but as shifting, perceptual experiences—offering a space where colour becomes the encounter. Her abstract oil paintings create ambiguous fields that resist focus, drawing viewers into a state of constant discovery as colours merge, dissolve, and reform. 

Meticulously blended gradients contrast with impulsive, textured brush strokes, introducing a tension between control and spontaneity. Through this interplay, her work captures the fleeting, in-between moments where stillness and movement coexist, inviting viewers to engage with the ever-changing nature of perception.
